It is until it gets its own community 😁

I can only hope. I've asked about it, but I hate being the person who asks because I don't want to end up a mod

What does the process look like?

This one was actually a really quick build, since aside from adding the gun I didn't have to do anything else to the Hotwheels car. Usually the builds are a lot more involved when it comes to adding bits (more posts coming), but this was pretty much just spray paint white and start painting. It took one night of painting, plus adding gloss varnish a few days later.

I see the decals on the car, that must’ve been a pain to do, even with a tiny enough brush!

Those were the most detailed part. Everything hand painted, I needed them tiny and tried to match the stickers on the bike in Akira as close as possible.

What would you do differently next time?

I used to wash all my red paintjobs to create depth. I don't do that anymore. The cleanup from wash takes as long as it would have just to layer the colors, and layers are way smoother color transitions.

Fascinating! Thanks for indulging my curiosity. I've had a passing interest in painting minis and models but not much reason, time, and patience to really get into it 😳 I've done traditional painting before, with acrylic, watercolor, acrylic gouache, but they've always been in flat surfaces.
