I promise you straight dating is a complete shit fest lol

10 years out and I believe it! What I’ve heard of the apps now is swipe garbage. They didn’t often read profiles back then, I’m not sure you even can now

I am so incredibly grateful that "meeting on the Internet" was still a bit weird when I met my wife. I just missed the whole Internet dating thing, and there were no smartphones/apps.

I would be utterly lost, today.

I had a uni lecturer who had a wife he met online in pre 96. That was genuinely weird! Meeting Boyo online was more a matter of: we’ve been at all these same gigs and know the same people, how the fuck have we not met without the net?

So how are people getting together? Or are they just not anymore?

And there's element of it being s young people's game too I suppose.

Real life. Bars, clubs, gigs, general public. You've got to be self aware and perceptive.

I don't approach anyone who's not already showing interest. And you have to be polite when rejected. No one wants to deal with a fuckwit.

Hmm you might find sex in that setting but beyond that I'm skeptical in most cases, even for straights.

The real life setting is more likely to be at work or friends of friends. But even that shrinks as you get older.
