It’s a perfect time to take stock of some of the seminal works of solarpunk fiction that have helped build the foundation for the subgenre’s grand coming out party. Below, listed in no particular order, are five essential works of solarpunk fiction that should be on the bookshelf of not just every solarpunk fan, but also of everyone who loves science fiction and fantasy in general.

I read foxhunt but somehow didn't enjoy it thaaat much. I never quite figured out what the main character was up to. She's kind of morally grey I would say which is interesting but the motives confused me so much. While the world is kind of solar punk ish it's not very well explained how things work. There seems to be no government but then some cities govern themselves. Then there is some vigilante kind of people who run around killing people. Did they seize power themselves? Were they appointed to do that? I have so many questions. Did anyone read this and has some thoughts?
