They’re not embarrassed. Embarrassment requires an ability to feel shame. Either the AP is intentionally propping up the GQP (likely) or the author is over 87 years old and is thinking of some long-lost political environment.
I'm always amazed that someone can still "get away" with falsifying all of their credentials did nobody in his district look this guy up?
I wouldn't even feel comfortable lying on an application for some inconsequential job. I guess that's why shitbags get ahead... better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
For some reason, Republicans did vote to expel him. I'm surprised.
Less than half of the Republicans voted to expel him. About 114 Republicans voted no. All but 4 Democrats voted to expel him (2 voted present, 2 voted against).
The majority of Republicans did not vote to expel him.
Okay, that's less surprising. But still, enough did.
