Really? The Star Trek community? I can't say I've seen any of that
It's the same mods that ran r/startrek. They're notorious for being ban happy especially if you have anything negative to say about nutrek. They also got other alternative trek subreddits banned for people that didn't want to deal with their moderation. Of all the things I hope to leave over in Reddit are toxic power mods and r/startrek mods are a prime example.
I wouldn't put it past them to defederating any other instance that has a trek community negative towards startrek.website.
Yep! Mods have done a good job burying it. Check the modlog, you'll be able to see any moderator action an reasoning for communities you are subscribed to (or maybe that your instance federated to, I'm not exactly sure).
I tried to do a level headed take over at !mildlyinfuriating@lemmy.world encompassing my experience. I'm sure it came across as whiny to some people. We've all got preconceptions of posts calling out mods for overreach so I understand
