had a sexual relationship

Read that and thought, "it must've been a female counselor and a male student"

How do these things still get reported this way

I had the same thought. It's dissapointing how lax the justice system is on sexual crimes when the offender is female.

A lot of the local reporting uses the word "rape". It's not perfect, but I noticed it.
