I wonder what is causing the automated summary to display such a wall of text, including non-relevant data like advertisements and author lists?
I tried posting the same link to an unrelated community that I moderate, and the result was the same - all the unrelated stuff was retrieved, with no way to enter a decent summary. :o
In my opinion, the summary should help the reader determine if they want to read the article / watch the video, so we need to find some better solution than the current way it behaves.
Is it OK if I refer this topic as a sample to u/poVoq (our local server admin), hoping that they might know useful tricks?
I think the way it handles YouTube and Invidious links is baked into Lemmy's code. You may have to file a ticket with the developers. You have my permission to share it with both.
Yep, that's what it seems to be. I'll check out the source code and contact the devs with ideas (unless I can perhaps contact the with a pull request).
