They should be preparing for the problems of today instead

They're preparing for the problems of an AI future, they're not going to deal with the problems of an AI future.

They're going to be told about them, and they're going to go "oh no", and then they're going to do nothing. Which is pretty much the attitude all the time.

Once they entrench big corporations and erect barriers to entry they'll become incapable of fixing things magically.
