I’ve had a complicated relationship with cannabis my whole life. When I was younger, every time I tried it, I didn’t care for it. Then I started hearing about medical use, and I thought it was just an excuse to get high (which I was 100% in favor of, I’ve never been a Prohibitionist). Then came my injury. I tried again and still didn’t like it, nor did it seem to help.
Years go by, and a friend brought me some edibles from CO after they legalized it, and I found at a low dose, I could get significant pain relief with little to no high, and I’ve been a daily user since then. After a while, I learned to appreciate the feeling, so I indulge in it occasionally as well.
I'm glad you found a mode of use that works well for you! If the THC is what makes you uncomfortable, you could try ratio edibles with more CBD/CBG/CBN than THC. They'll all help with the pain relief while helping tone down the effects of the THC. The CBN might make you feel more stoned, but it's a potent sleep aid and muscle relaxer, so it might also calm you enough to counteract THC induced anxiety.
