They messed up the draw for the pools. The four in form "semifinal" teams met in the quarters.

I was thinking about that some more. I've been a bit anti the draw in the past because it was so lopsided. But; there's something to be said for doing the draw at least 2 years out. It makes test matches in the first 2 years of a World Cup cycle mean more. We want the tier 1 teams to try to be the best in the world all the time, not just from 18 months out from a World Cup.

Yeah, it's too bad. Every QF was electric, which is great, but It really feels like France and Ireland should be in the semis
