Neighbours irrigation system has either failed or just been left on. Their front garden is basically flooded and they're away at the moment.

Same neighbour which destroyed my shed wall and hasn't bothered to build a retaining wall.

My mind is conflicted. Do I care or do I not care.

But I do think there are lessons here.

  1. Be on good terms with your neighbours
  2. A tap at 600kPa with a pipe diameter of 12mm if left running will cost you $1500 a week at current yarra valley water rates

I would care, just in case the soil saturation/flooding has other knock on effects

Now I'm conflicted again. hrmm.

Just go over and switch it off (if you can), it might be easier than dealing with any after effects (rotting neighbouring garden with anaerobic soil, yum). And tell yourself you're doing it for yourself rather than for jerk neighbour. You can leave him a sarcastic note if you want :p

Yea they have super high fences so can't :( I mean I could scale it but it'd be an adventure.

Such a waste of water. I think I'll just flick them a text.

If it doesn't leak into your yard you don't care. Not your business.

yea so tried that 2 yrs ago for the other neighbour whose sprinkler system failed. they can't do anything if they can't easily get to the mains.
