I often use a pressure cooker to cook rice faster. Especially cause I know the rice-water proportions (1:1.5) that would always give me a good result in ~5 mins.
Pretty much what I do as well, but I go 1:1 by weight and 3 min cook time (30 for brown) + NR.
Disclaimer: I'm a white dude from Canada. Rice isn't exactly in my culture.
