Even if "big AI changes" happen in the next 10, 20 or 100 years and AI takes over your job, you can just move to making AI yourself. This shit is 99% math+designing, the rest is code. The branch itself isn't too far from programming, if you exceed at one you'll be better than good in the other.

"making ai" these days isn't so much programming as having access to millions of dollars worth of hardware
