I think it’s called Sacred Band of Thebes, where they specifically get male lovers as soldiers since they will fight for each other more fiercely.

A nice name for an acoustic band also.

Yeah, the Sacred Band of Thebes (citizen-soldiers from a democratic polity) decisively defeated the Spartans (a caste-based oligarchy) in several engagements, shattering Spartan power.

Would also be a great metal band name
