A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.

Rules

The entire showerthought must be in the title

it's weird that we are prepared to die for democracy, yet willingly enter dictatorships daily for work and spend the majority of our waking lives with people we vaguely know (sh.itjust.works)

I would starve without a job. (without welfare, in some countries, this is not enough)

There is an order of magnitude here. In a way, I'm being hyperbolic. But I do want to highlight the similarity between the two.
