Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

There's no need to have an entire laptop for that, just have a copy of Windows installed on a bootable USB stick (and disable your main drive if needed).
To make restoration even more easier, you could have Windows self-contained inside a
.VHDfile and boot it using Ventoy, which makes it easy to backup and restore. So once you're done with the exam thing, just restore the clean VHD back. And use a tiny debloated copy of Windows such as Tiny10 or something so that your VHD is much smaller, making it even more quicker to backup and restore.
