No kidding.

I know it’s purely anecdotal but all the Ukrainians I’ve had in my town have been some of the most kindest and polite people I’ve had the pleasure of serving

Usually true of refugee populations. People in the West don't realise what it takes to leave your country forever and build a new life from nothing somewhere else. These are strong people who value community and charity because they can't take it for granted anymore.
