The new word won't use any of the letter you've already ruled out (so if you guess "doors", for example, the new word won't have d, o, r, or s).

I know this isn't exactly a new game, but I thought I'd share it because it is, as the name implies, absurd.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how this is different from wordle other than unlimited guesses.

Edit: I guess I see the difference. Wordle has a word you're using process of elimination to find, whereas Absurdle uses your input to pick a word that's furthest away from your guesses. But this then means you can use that against itself and make your first couple guesses all letters you don't want to deal with.

For some reason, I appreciate that you're not working towards one specific word from the start but slowly narrowing down the "available words" until one fits.

I didn’t notice any difference either, until I realised that this is actually how I play wordle already. My first 2, normally 3 guesses are just covering the space of likely letters with no repeats.

Their official description does a horrible job of explaining that with far more words

After trying a few times, I guess you have more agency here than in Wordle since you can choose which way you want your guess to go but I'm not sure I dig it.

My first three guess were XEROX / PUSHY / QUILT every time and that forced words that have A as the only vowels so far. Eventually I might eventually stumble on a word with a Q or U getting generated, but my guess is that will be rather rare.

I can try to force hard words to guess but that just sounds forcing myself to deal with the most frustrating parts of Wordle.
