Starbucks has repeatedly shown they are purely profit driven, they don't care about their employees or customer's, only the value for their shareholders.
Workers rights, are human rights; just as LGBTQ+ rights are human rights. They have internally decided that "rainbow washing" is not a profit driver this year, so franchises can take the heat on their own. They will "insert Corp speak for discuss" supporting the rainbow issue again in a few years when there is no downside in pretending to care.
