personally i'm more comfortable with the UI and features of discord, plus i'm not too familiar with what the issues with privacy it has. could be that the mods here feel the same way, or that there would be a larger userbase on discord

Discord's privacy issue, is that it doesn't have any. Discord has complete access to everything.
