I can't believe that people are supporting an app that literally adds ads into a platform that doesn't have ads, then makes you pay to remove them. Insane.

It adds adverts to a mobile app, that you don't have to use.

People support it because of the polish and the commitment that the Dev has put into its previous iteration. No one has said that it was going to be FOSS or non-monetized. From day one everyone knew that Sync was going to be a port to Lemmy with all strings attached like it was before.
