downvotes disabled is a good start, but that doesn't inherently prevent the reddit snappiness/sass

A combination of moderation and community support. Feel free to tell people they're not being particularly nice or report their comments so that someone can step in and nicely remind them of the space they are occupying and to be(e)have. 💜
