Err... this comment chain was literally started due to misandry.

1 in 5 women in the US are raped at some point in their lives. It's not misandry to avoid men when there's a 20% chance you'll be raped. That's just good sense.

Unhappy with that? Work to create a safer society for women, instead of trolling a post about a woman who was raped hundreds of times by fifty different men.

Yeah, I've heard the same thing about why it's acceptable to be afraid of certain minorities because they "statistically commit more crimes."

Neither are excuses for bigotry and prejudice.

^
White people becoming black the moment a woman refuses an open-top drink just sitting on a table at a party.

What an absurdly bad faith argument to make. I assume you're trying to get me to write several paragraphs explaining why it's so damn stupid just so you can reply with a one word gatcha or something.

Anyways, eat shit incel.

[–] gift_of_gab@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Well they replied to a different account so either they're both you or you grossly misread what they were replying to.

[–] john89@lemmy.ca 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'll take your pivot to personal insults as admittance that you have no counter-argument.

Not surprised.

[–] AnxiousOtter@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'll take your pivot to a well known misleading and unrelated statistic with no comparable qualities aside from both being a statistic as admittance that you have no counter-argument.

Not surprised.

[–] john89@lemmy.ca 0 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, anything to avoid admitting you don't have a point.

I already made my point? Society at large doesn't take sexual assault seriously, as evidenced by many factors such as lack of police response, hostile judicial systems, health insurance companies not covering rape kits, the existence of manosphere pieces of shit like the Tates, America recently electing an adjudicated rapist to the highest office of the country, the misogynistic teachings of all major religions, the misogynistic practices of all right-wing political ideologies, etc... Women face a harsh reality where they're forced to protect themselves.

Even here, in a post about a woman raped by over fifty men hundreds of times, you're shrieking "BuT WhUt AbOuT MEnS FeEliNgS".

So, what exactly is your point? Women should just swallow all of these fears and concerns? Why? To spare men any sort of introspection and emotional discomfort? Just deal with it ladies, you're gonna get raped, big deal.

[–] john89@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

You didn't make your point. You said you weren't going to make your point and then proceeded to personally insult me.

You still haven't explained why prejudice isn't acceptable for racists but it is acceptable for misandrists.

So, what exactly is your point?

Did... did you see the part where I said "neither are an excuse for bigotry and prejudice"? Or did you just conveniently ignore that part so you could say I don't have a point?

I've made it clear from the very beginning: misandry isn't acceptable behavior and it's part of a double-standard that you are proudly defending. You got upset about this and proceeded to attack me without explaining why the same arguments racists use to justify their racism are somehow acceptable to justify your sexism.

[–] AnxiousOtter@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Rofl, can you point to the prejudice and/or bigotry? Nobody is suggesting we deny service to men, remove men's civil rights, or do literally anything to men. All your rights and liberties are fully intact. Women being cautious, scared and wary of men because they fear for their safety is not bigotry, prejudice, or sexism. It's a rational and direct response to society's complete and utter failure to protect them, and even further, society's active efforts to protect the rapists and punish the victims.

We're all in here talking about protecting women in a world where way too many people think rape is perfectly acceptable, and you're in the back shouting "but how do we protect the men!?" and you genuinely don't see a problem with that. Jesus Christ. Men are protected, it's women who are vulnerable.

If you need me to spell out why judging somebody before you know them based on their sex is prejudiced and sexist, then you need to look up what the definitions of those words mean.

[–] AnxiousOtter@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Nobody is prejudging anyone. It's risk mitigation. I don't lock my doors at night because I'm prejudiced or bigoted towards my neighbors. I lock them because there's a non zero statistical chance that someone might try to break in. Do you not understand what risk management means? Then you need to look up what the definitions of those words mean.

Nobody is prejudging anyone. It’s risk mitigation.

Yeah, the racists say the same thing about avoiding minorities.

It's clear you're never going to accept your bigotry.

[–] AnxiousOtter@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

It's clear you're a misogynistic incel that thinks you deserve access to a woman's body against her will :). Thanks for the self report.

[–] john89@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Back to the personal attacks.

Anything to avoid admitting you're part of the problem.

You still haven't explained why prejudice isn't acceptable for racists but it is acceptable for misandrists.

Because a black person being wary of confederate-flag-carrying white men actually is acceptable, and you'd know that if your red pill was as good as my ecstacy.

Your hurt feelings are not the denial of your right to vote.

Your hurt feelings are not the revocation of Roe v. Wade.

Your hurt feelings are not workplace sexual harassment.

Your hurt feelings are not rohypnol being slipped into your drink.

Your hurt feelings are not dick pics being sent by someone twice your age.

Your hurt feelings are not your boyfriend hyperventillating because you have 3 exes.

And why are your feelings hurt anyway? Were you one of these fifty men in France? Then suck it up. You are embarrassing to my country of men.
