General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

If you are a mealy mouthed snake who comes on the radio every morning with intentions to distract and divert the public from the truth, then you are the abuser, not the abused

I think very idea that people believe they can (or are entitled to) go on national TV, tell egregious and mendacious lies to a million people and expect not to be called a cunt, is one of the most bizarre things in the world .

I think that, in fact, 'They have it coming' is not a great argument.

I mean, for one thing, it clearly isn't working, by any definition. You seem to think (correct me if I'm wrong) that MPs deserve to get a lot of abuse. The fact is that they do. But I gather from the tone of your comment that you don't believe it's had the effect of correcting their behaviour. Abuse never does have this effect. That it's not effective is itself a good reason not to do it.

You’ve put so many words in my mouth I can hardly speak.

Feel free to explain what you actually meant.

I mean, it seems you were saying 'Abuse isn't abuse if it's aimed at people who I think are abusive' and that's not true. You know that's not true.

I cannot speak for the OP, but I can tell you that if one is spreading lies and racist propaganda, he shouldn't be surprised when a milkshake lands on his face.
