I, too, live in a pretty stable country on the other side of the Atlantic and have quite a negative view of the country that started a war with Ukraine. A country I'm slightly worried for because of recent developments.
It's kinda scary to think that the carrot said he'll "stop the war in Ukraine", knowing full well that it won't be in Ukraine's favor. But then the scariest part is reading that Russia contemplated using nuclear weapons in 2022
My only thought is that there has to be a point between "throwing Ukraine under the bus" and "Russia uses a nuke".
Look, my general reaction to the russian state is "shove it" but I recognize that they do exist and that comes with some issues for everyone to figure out. The Big Mac Baron isn't, in my opinion, the obvious candidate to solve those issues. Neither for Russia, the rest of Europe, or the American continent.
But hey, that's who we have to contend with for 4 more years.
You say four years. I hope you are right.
I say 4 years, because I have to assume it will be 4 years. If it isn't, I'll react appropriately then.
