There's still no exact date for season eight other than "2025," but that portal gun's gonna be in use for years to come now.

Wasn't the series approved for like 80 episodes not too long ago?

70 - 70 episodes in 2018:

We've only had 40 episodes since then, so that renewal alone comes up to Season 10.
