During a walk, my sister took a photo of squirrels with their tails matted and knotted together. I’ve heard of rat kings, but would this be considered a squirrel king?

Squirrels are vectors for the bubonic plague... So... Yeah, definitely go grab 'em.
well that's definitely a way to not make more babies no?
At least in the US you can call your local animal control and either them, or the regional wildlife rehab center will help separate them if possible.
Source: Worked at one of those centers in a past life when I wanted to be in veterinary sciences. (SOooOO MANY BABY BIRDS -_- )
