The vegan place to discuss things.

Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.

Refer to animals as:

Sentient beings, farm animals, he/him, she/her, they/them, fishes, sheeps, cows, chickens, turkeys, ducks, camels, individuals.

Replace idioms that normalize violence towards animals with better ones like "feed two birds with one scone"

I like this one, I will do next time I read a wikipedia article including animals, probably each time I see it from now on, I don't read wikipedia as much as I used to but its a cool rebellious idea, I can just imagine the debates with wikipedia moderators after it sparks an edit war

We the people can always change the language to more accurately reflect reality, I'm also considering emailing the major dictionary publications to include vegan terms in their prints.

Sounds good, let me know if theres something I can do to support, and if you want to talk further I'm on simplex
