NASA called the soaring heat "part of a pattern of increasing global temperatures, as a result of human activities, mainly carbon dioxide emissions."

China and the US need to drastically cut their fossil fuel CO2 emissions.

Well, the US is on a general downward trend, and China is on a general upward trend. At least China's upward trend seems to be slowing, so hopefully they get get into a downward trend soon. But China also produces like 2x the V02 vs the US, so that's where we should be focusing.
