Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. tried to arrange a meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris to secure a place in her administration or a cabinet post in exchange for an endorsement, according to multiple reports.

The Washington Post first reported that Kennedy made the overture through intermediaries, just weeks after he proposed as similar arrangement to former President Donald Trump after the Republican National Convention last month. The pair spoke about the plan, but did not reach an agreement on the matter.

Harris has not responded with an offer to meet and her campaign has expressed no interest to do so, the Post added.

Look who's objecting.

Earlier this year, multiple lawmakers, including Sen. Chris Van Hollen [D] of Maryland, planned to object to the sale.

Ah, and Biden is slow walking the sale...

The items are intended to maintain and build Israel's overall long-term defensive capability, and most of the items will be delivered in installments over the course of several years, a State Department official told CBS News. The F-15s, for example, will be manufactured by Boeing and take at least a decade to deliver in full, the official said.

Oh, this is interesting too.

The Biden administration has had to balance its continued support for Israel with a growing number of calls from lawmakers and the U.S. public to curb military support there due to the high number of civilian deaths in Gaza. It has curbed one delivery of 2,000-pound weapons amid continued airstrikes by Israel in densely populated civilian areas in Gaza.

...the U.S. had been withholding weapons deliveries for Israel's war effort in Gaza...

On June 23, Netanyahu told his Cabinet that there had been a "dramatic drop" in U.S. weapons about four months prior, without specifying which weapons. Those comments came just days after he released a video in English claiming there had been weeks of unsuccessful pleas with American officials to speed up deliveries.

Curse Biden for not magically making Netanyahu stop being a murderous asshole. You know that there are limits to what the American President can do on his own, without the full support of his legislature, about the homicidal activities of a foreign ruler? But by all means, keep attacking the Democrats as if a 2nd Trump administration would be an improvement. What did Trump say about Israel/Gaza? Oh that's right, Israel should "finish what they started" and "get it over with fast".

I love your post!

I agree, it’s very cut and dry what’s going on with this topic. I haven’t seen a single person yet chime in about Gaza who followed up with a sincere conversation about it, though. Just jabs, snark, and mud slinging.

I think the kindest interpretation is that they’re not thinking it through and they don’t want to. The least kind is that they’re insincere and looking for any way to start an argument.

Thank you. I'm fairly certain I won't convince the individual I'm debating with, but I do hope others will read and maybe they'll start looking closer at the issues and learn more about them.
