Today is Election Day!

For those who haven't voted early, now's your time! All of the seats in the state Senate and House of Delegates are up for grabs. This is anticipated to be another very close election.

The list of this year's candidates and local referendums are on the VA Dept of Elections website.

Before you get to the poll station, bring an accepted form of ID!. If you forget your ID, ask for a provisional ballot.

Polls are open from 6am until 7:00pm. You must be in line by 7:00pm to vote. (src)

This comes after VPM reported on 10558 people losing voting rights. The Dept of Elections claimed these were caused by new felony convictions but the state police noted it marks probation violations as felonies in a state database.

VPM News is reporting that this will cause the state police to change what information gets reported to ELECT

The problems appear to stem from recent changes by ELECT aimed at removing people from voter rolls who’ve had their rights restored and subsequently been convicted of a new felony.
