it's almost like all these different regulatory bodies you mentioned don't serve the people, but instead the wealthy

damn, its so strange that a rich guy was able to throw thousands of satellites into space, in a manner that completely changes humanity's relationship to the cosmos, without any meaningful form of public debate or discussion.

even more strange when you consider that the owner of the company is one of the most talked about people on the planet. i wonder how he's able to keep getting away with it.

If only there was a way to access the Internet that didn't require constantly launching space junk into temporary orbit

a lot of things were going viral over three years ago

Not beside the point. Good or bad, this feature will mean that some workers will see less trips and make less money. That’s a simple mathematical fact.

Alternatively, in a world where gig workers made a livable salary regardless of the number of jobs slung their way, these safety changes would be much more decoupled from affecting the take-home pay of one of the poorest sector of workers in this country.

Everyone in the comments getting played like a fiddle, the real takeaway here is that all “gig economy” workers deserve a guaranteed hourly salary at a livible wage

Hopefully some skepticism can finally be focused on the concept of giving a single billionaire unfettered control over who is allowed to access the internet, and what they are allowed to do with it.

The whole endeavor to “arm” Ukraine with Starlink has always been a shameless attempt to dodge any future criticism of the company, by claiming to be a “military asset”

I hope one day the full story gets told about the tremendous pressure and media scrutiny checo has contended with. Its very strange, there is always some excuse preventing him from getting any positive recognition. Undoubtably, race plays a factor here, even subconsciously.

If he fails to get on the podium, he apparently needs to be fired immediately. When he has a bad qualifying and cleanly overtakes half a dozen cars to finish 2nd, then its entirely the car that’s responsible. and, i guess, also due to his ‘south american’ heritage.

Ironically, due to his inconsistent qualifying, and exceptional racecraft and tire management, he’s one of the more entertaining drivers to watch on raceday.

should go ahead and ban image uploading to lemmy.world, as there is likely a ton of illegal, copyright-violating content that hasn't been stress-tested for fair use.

Criminally underrated, mostly due to releasing the same weekend as Star Wars. Anyone else a fan of this movie?
