I have family that would claim they are pro-labor, keyword claim. One family member was in a union for his entire working career. Him and his spouse vote conservative (afaik) everytime. I've tried to explain that they are voting against what helped them get to the point they are at currently but they just can't see it. It has helped some that now I'm in a union but even when agreeing with me that corporations only care about profits and will cut you and your benefits the first chance they get, they will still side with R. It's crazy! We even had an interesting conversation about trickle down economics and how it hasn't worled or trickled down at all. I was surprised they agreed with me on that.

The problem is that it is just poor money management. He could've been set for life. Put that into an index or S&P500 and get 10% every year. That's 70k and he wouldn't even have to work. If you took that 70k and invested back into the fund, you can double your money in about 7 years, assuming 10% returns.

Glad I'm not alone in this. Tight budgeting that slowly trickles down to negative and then the tax credits come in and give us a boost to hopefully last the next year.

Dude, what the heck is wrong with people. Wealth is wasted on the stupid.

I sure hope you are able to and are actively looking for a different employer. That sucks man...sorry to hear it.

Dang, that sucks. It was a good place to find stuff.

Yea, that makes sense. Whenever I'm home from work, I make sure the phone goes on the counter. Thankfully, I'm not into social media all that much.

Do you have any tips? My kids are still pretty young (3 and 2) and I really want to avoid them having acess to these sorts of things.

I highly recommend you check out a book called "A Bold Return to Giving a Damn". It's about a cattle rancher who turned his ranch into a form of regenerate agriculture. One of his main point is that the current meat industry provides cheap meat that is subsidized by the environment. His ranch is called White Oak Pastures. Fascinating book and definitely changed the way I look at meat consumption. I still eat meat but my extended family raises a cow every year so I think its a little but better than the industrial food system currently at work.
