but for real, when this announcement came out it actually took me real effort to figure out who the fuck Elliot page was because they hadn't really been that active at the time otherwise. no fucking articles anywhere mentioned what they used to be called so i was genuinely very confused.

that's why i said they were like military pants but short lol

it's still the same style of pants and that's still how they're described, theses ones are just cut into shorts. military is just the term for the style of pants worn in dress uniforms. it doesn't mean every pair of pants in that cut are used by the military.

i mean, i think it's pretty obvious they meant like dress uniforms. these are just short and tight compared to dress blues, but generally in a similar style.

eh, as a videographer who measures and labels the output of lights professionally sometimes, we count bounced lights as lights.

it's also damn slow and destructive if you're trying to fit it into a true professional workflow with deadlines. i work with programs like it professionally and I only use gimp when i find myself on a random computer that doesn't have anything else. it'll get the job done, pretty much any job, but it might be very slow and painful. as someone who DEFINITELY knows how to use gimp, i understand the op they're clowning more than i understand the 1 peer i know that's actually managing to make money with a fully foss workflow. I also happen to know he largely doesn't sleep to accomplish it.

gimp and darktable and similar projects are great, but workflow efficiency is what they do after they finish adding features. that just never happens. it's not the exciting work.

privately held can be bad, but they aren't inherently so. it's possible for a decent person/idealogue to have a decent product that people want to buy at a fair price. they're just very easily beat out by bigger brands most of the time because they aren't ruthless like the big ones.

i think the line generally comes specifically at "publicly traded company" that's when everything other than "line go up" is thrown out. publicly traded companies are inherently bad for everyone but those who invest in them.

brother that was over a decade ago. that change happened almost a quarter of the internet's lifespan ago.

they did that in 2009. YouTube only existed in that state for 2 years. so like 90% of YouTube's existence has not included the star rating.

yes, all of them. if what the tech was made for.

wizard probably had to transmute his clothes smaller to fit. not many medieval folk would likely be able to easily acquire frog sized clothing.

oh but that's basically only humans. our mouths are one of our fairly unique features.

Nestle can probably monetize in the future, so I'm sure they're working on it.

stopped by my favorite birding spot after work and had these fellas fly in over my head. guest appearance by a great blue heron.

shot on sony a7siii with a tamron 150-500. all handheld and after the sun was behind the mountains, so you'll have to excuse some shakiness and focus issues.

music: creep - original song by Radiohead - performed by scott bradlee's post modern jukebox.

I'm sick as hell right now and this pulled up right outside my front door last night. stepped out to take a picture because nothing felt real for a moment. then i started coughing and kind of regretted it. worth it?
