I think it’s more than artists you star. Mine started notifying me about new releases of artists within my local library.

I use Songkick for shows and Apple Music does notify me of artists’ new releases under Home > Account (user image on top-right) > Notifications.

I’m no expert, but that looks like a Jade plant. Succulents like that should be exposed to indirect light and watered once per week, but that depends on how humid your house/city is.
