The Mote in God's Eye by Larry Niven is exactly what you want

Lizzie is adorable. She needs one of those window suction cup beds

I really like your pan! Where'd you get it and what kind is it?

I just finished Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke and it was great!

Some other pics, this was after cleaning up a little with the chisel too. I was aiming for about 2-2.5 degrees. Would be nice to have something better right off the saw (or other method).

After researching the medallion on the handle I found out it's a 1940s Disston D8 26" 10TPI crosscut saw

I tried to follow the process from this video https://youtu.be/cN8yMAXp54s for the most part. Haven't done any sharpening on it yet. Still need the tools.

Got some more shaping to do on the top. Not sure how I'm going to finish it yet. Can you put renaissance wax over poly?

This is rex kreuger's 2x4 stool, but I'm pretty sure it's based off a Christopher schwarz design

I drilled a few practice holes with a forstner bit and a bevel gauge and honestly even the first holes I drilled were pretty dead on and I'm no whiz with the drill. Worst cast scenario you're out $5 for the 2x4

Worked awesome out of the box, then even better after sharpening it. I made a pretty amateur mistake of leaving it on a piece of wood I had just planed. I oiled it before I left for the night, but when I came back in the morning I had the teeny tiniest spots of rust.

I'm trying to find some wood to use, but am not sure what to look for. I'm mainly interested in building simple stools. I live in south Alabama and the nearest lumber yard is 3 hours away.
