I end up switching more and more of my stuff away from Google every time something like this comes out.

If you value privacy, ditch Chrome and switch to Firefox now in c/technology@lemmy.world

+1, Liftoff is pretty good. I'm a Sync user and decently happy with Liftoff while I wait
