So I've been using it intensely for a couple of days. I think it's a very good match for what i wanted to do. (multi-doc switching + separate note taking, with color). I do have a couple of enhancement requests that I'm going to submit to the software team. Quite nice battery life for pure reading as well.

I'll share my experiences in this community once mine arrives.

Their plan is definitely to leave locations where working conditions are not in their favor. Not so lol for the people losing their jobs, though right? :-(

So, Werchter '23 is over. This was the first edition I was planning to not go. Didn't regret it it, too few of the old gang managed to get there. So now I'm officially old :-)

The HQ is being relocated to a place with 'better' conditions (in the EU for now, but mainly Poland).

I do wonder how effective this would be if for example a multinational can simply withdraw from Belgium or even the EU :-( Even if the argument was made that it was more efficient or at least not less efficient than the status quo, a lot of these companies have a very heavy US-biased view on work-life-balance (see for for example the current RTO initiatives as well).

I think it depends on your personal state of mind. Some people might enjoy being deconnected more and others just the additional 'buffer' of time around worktime.

I found that even one additional hour per day to spend on family and enjoyment was improving my work output in a way that it almost negated the one hour of worktime lost.
