It turns out they're always out of half my order when I get delivery

I haven't used latex in 20+ years, so it's not real fresh for me but this looks like a great alternative.

35 snaps installed and the only real pain is with the 2 web browsers.

The only places I've felt the pain were firefox, chrome, and eclipse. I'll check later to see what snaps are installed but the sandbox is mostly not noticed. The main issue is that the app with this biggest attack surface (Firefox) is also the one I explicitly want to access my whole system.

Chrome I only installed because ff didn't work, but it was no better.

It's so easy to use openjdk. I think the lesson is stop using oracle

Idk, I thought we were pretty far from the current level of conversation.

If it's connected to a network it's not enough that it's an internal tool. Don't open yourself up to a coworker executing code on your machine as you.

We just point a backend developer at it and hope.

My now 75 year old dad and I watched it when it was first released. It's one of my favorite memories.

I love that differences with gnu are bugs. I know it will lead to slower, less maintainable code, but it makes adoption worlds easier

Yes. It's not great that they're banning a mass communication app. Tiktok is very often used for political communication and while I might support limiting the power of corporations in our political communication I don't support the consolidation into even fewer hands.

I can't relate to either of these experiences but I am unreasonably invested in the answer.

I was skeptical of gatherers ergonomics based on the jep, but this devoxx talk really makes them seem more approachable.
