@Kit Sorry for being late to this thread. As someone else said, if it's also getting cold where you live, you can put things outside, in the shade. Here there are 12 degrees Celsius, but in the night it will be 1. Either way, in my country, if there is any vegetable out there we pickle it (we're mostly doing this with cucumbers, green tomatoes carrots and cabbage, but you're free to experiment). Here's a simple recipe for that:

youtube.com/watch?v=Ql1sCw00Zz…

You're basically putting these vegetables into salty water, or in a mix with water and vinegar, along with other stuff. If it's not that cold, it's even better, as the vegetables will become pickled faster.

You can also search for Romanian pickles or reteta muraturi on YouTube (if you're okay with not understanding the language).

Another thing that we do is polenta. We usually eat it with cheese and sour cream, but as these require a fridge to keep, you're free not to use them.

This video is in Romanian, but the steps seem pretty clear. Here's what you need:

  • hominy
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • water
  • butter/olive oil (optionally, for a more creamy consistency)

The rest should be self-explainatory.

@UngodlyAudrey Whatever you do, don't plan on moving to Eastern Europe. Trump will leave us all at the mercy of Russians*.

*That is, if you think the situation under the Russian influence will still be worse than under Trump

@LaFinlandia a bit off-topic, but for those wondering, the song is not played by Rammstein. It's Eisbrecher - Verrückt:

@MudMan That's pretty much how war is. Imagine you had to basically shoot some people yourself. It would be terrifying.

Update Monday, 11:50 AM local time: Ziarul de Gardă published the map of the preliminary results of the elections.

There is also an easier to read map on r/Moldova, back on the spez site.

With the elections coming to a close, international reactions started to flow, most of them congratulating Maia Sandu, with Emmanuel Macron even writing a message in Romanian on X (formerly known as Twitter):

preview.redd.it/utmakul7otyd1.…

Translation:

I would like to congratulate Maia Sandu on her re-election as President of the Republic of Moldova. Democracy has triumphed in the face of all interference and maneuvering. France will continue to stand by Moldova on its European path

Other leaders who congratulated Maia Sandu were Ursula von der Leyen, Roberta Metsola, as well as the exiled leader of the Belarus opposition, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.

As a personal note, I would also like to thank you for following my updates on this thread, as well as the previous one. I thought that there is too little content regarding the Romanian-speaking space here on fedi overall, hence why I decided to take the matter in my own hands. Do you have any feedback to give me on this? Perhaps you're just as unsatisfied with the federation issues I have as much as I am. Or just write me any other nice stuff that you want 😀

If so, I created a form below:

@alyaza can I vote even if I'm not a US citizen? Haha

[–] petrescatraian@libranet.de 5 points 1 week ago

@0x815 as long as it has troops in Transnistria they will surely continue to interfere and do it rather efficiently (not to mention about Găgăuzia), but yes, for now it seems the tide has changed in favor of Moldova - at least for the time being.

Also, what I did not mention was that Maia Sandu won in the county of the runaway Ilan Shor. How the turns have tabled. 😁

@0x815 the situation was simply insane, with clear voter fraud schemes, election tourism and bomb threats across polling stations in Europe, which were meant to disrupt the voting process. However they failed to disrupt it.

After Sandu's last term, I expect the country to be firmly onto a European path and pass more much-needed reforms on it's way to EU. Hope she and her government will not take too much time like it kinda did in her 1st term imo.

Apparently it takes 2000 at minimum for them to give a damn.

More of a showerthought, but still.

Yesterday, I just pulled out from the dead my opendesktop account and discovered that they are now offering multiple online services as well: There is GitLab, Mastodon and Nextcloud for pretty much anything you want. I, myself, am not a developer, so the most useful for me would be the latter two - specifically Nextcloud, where they offer a whopping (for me) 5 GB free storage.

I am not new to Nextcloud, as my Friendica node admin also provides a Nextcloud instance with some storage available, and the availability to increase it by mounting external storage sources, such as Amazon S3, WebDAV or even other Nextcloud mounts.

For note-taking, I am using Notable and keeping my notes in .md files, as this allows me to use just about any program I want to edit them on other devices (or switch from it seamlessly if I don't like it), but the way it works is to have a subfolder called notes on every "data directory" that you point it to. However, the Nextcloud notes app just wants to use the folder named in your default locale (in my case, it was called "Note")

So what did I do? I mounted the folder "Note" on opendesktop, as "notes" back on my node's Nextcloud server. On my phone, I do not have this issue, so I can use it with whatever name I want.

Now, I know I could simply use another note-taking app instead on my desktop, or just switch the locale on the other side. But I am sure there are plenty of use cases where a program just expects a certain folder to be somewhere, but you're unable to rename it there or use a different folder, so that is a welcome feature. And I now have the ability to access my notes both online and on whichever device I use, which is super handy.

Next-up, I plan to store some music there, as it also has a music app. Then I want to mount the folder as WebDAV on my phone, for foobar2000.

I just love Open Source 😁

Below there are some pics with the whole setup in action:

She also said the satan is in there and that she will call a priest to come. She also said that she wanted to talk with Roberta Metsola, she told her who she is and Metsola replied that she already knows. Șoșoacă said that she turned white on her face or something and that Metsola immediately called a few people to protect her "like I was trying to kill her or something" (as Șoșoacă said - gee, I wonder why she would do this, hmm?).

Edit: also, Șoșoacă said her internet was cut while she was doing a livestream in the EU Parliament.

I fucking hate everyone who sent this circus performer to Brussels. Her place should be in Moscow, where she is the most comfortable!
