They weren't born large. Reddit was seeded with content by the developers before the users came. The secret to growing a community is to grow a community. It all has to start somewhere and frankly, fediverse is starting with a much stronger kick start than digg and Reddit ever had.

But if they didn't vote Republican, how are they going to own the libs. Sure they're struggling to pay bills and sure they'll probably just die if they get sick, but what's more important is that trans people get harassed /s

If we just gave Elon all the money instead of most of it, he could finally solve all problems. He's very tight on cash right now being the richest person in the world.

That intimacy was still available on Reddit, but you needed to dig into the niche subs to find it. Commenting on large subs was definitely a cup of water in the ocean feeling.

The current communities are a bit too small to be really engaging. There's often only a handful of comments instead of a wealth of discussion. It will grow and they will get better, but it's understandable that some people are feeling the content is a bit hollow currently. I bet another doubling in size (very doable) would easily bring us to the activity level needed for things to be lively and fresh.

It takes effort to rebel this hard. That effort should be rewarded not squashed. Eventually they'll find something that interests them and their effort will be naturally put into improving that. Basically, don't kill a child's spirit.

An AI writer is always going to be trash. AI can't experience anything, only remix preexisting content. So it'll always be a regurgitation of what others have posted. But if we keep cutting out humans, then it'll eventually be nothing content on repeat.

He already did that once when he sold the company. He's trying to double dip on the bag now.

Not just a doubling of users though. There's been a massive explosion in activity from all users, more than just a doubling.

I think bottom right is the best for official direction. Bottom left is super cute as a template for putting the character in different costumes.

It's a European data law. And no it wouldn't help, they are using scripts to blindly revert bulk changes.

I think it's important to realize that almost everyone is plenty healthy at 30 years old assuming they haven't grown enormously fat. Health decline is a more recent issue as people have lived long enough for organ failure/cancer to take over as the leading cause of death instead of malnourishment/injury.

A huge problem was teeth. Eating those old hard seeds and fruits plus grinding down greens wore away teeth. Once the teeth are gone, wild animals quickly suffer malnourishment and early humans would have had the same issue. Living to a ripe old age would require soft food, plentiful access to it, and not dying to infection. Only then would long term health be a real concern for our ancient ancestor.
