The first link is down?

Thanks! But I'm looking Tor support for the Monero node and that's the initial question.

I didn't ever used because what you said. Some people like to forget in order to have multiple options but that's not good for the community.

Sorry, I'm trying to understand. On BTCPay Bitcoin based, they added an option for exposing a Tor Address from UI. The current Monero support is not their priority and their lacks the same funcionality on XMR payments.

Are you talking about this file?

Yep, from another perspective and sounds great! But on my records Bitcoin is a concept from Satoshi original idea that currently lives on Monero.

So, Monero means dinero! Makes sense 🔥

Of course and that's do the magic. Meanwhile, I was talking about privacy, control and more adoption.

Basically XMR pairs means liquidity and more adoption, price is an integral aspect of every currency and we can like it or not but that won't change this reality.

I totally understand the show that influencers and all the rocket lines and predictions creates and I'm not talking about that kind of stuff. Seems to be a good timming for share something different and add value to the topic :)

Cool, I honestly don't spend time on videos or follow trends like Monerotopia (I prefer to read blogs, forums, like old days) but perhaps I can talk with Bawdy because I like their style.

Thanks 👌

I understand that price is an integral aspect of good and services like currencies and the whole world priced into our social and/or community reality.

I think that confusing price with the BS around is like confusing privacy with pr0n or something else. I'm agree that security is more important, that means adoption and price on the complete equation.

A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System

I've gathered a few insights from my experience in the Monero community over the years:

  • Nobody cares until there’s pressure.
  • Price always matters, but freedom more.
  • Scammers are everywhere like cookies on clearnet.
  • Everyone points fingers, but only a few take action.
  • Genuine donations exist and are growing stronger every day.
  • Privacy is crucial because it is a necessary pillar of freedom.
  • If you don't host, you're giving away your data.
  • OPSEC is everything in a controlled digital age.
  • It's better to avoid going mainstream; the underground will prevail and set future trends.
  • It's OK to use drugs and/or own guns.
  • It's OK to be misunderstood and to ask questions—far better than remaining ignorant.
  • It's OK to change our mind when necessary. Perhaps, always.
  • We are in a silent war about our freedom and we are warriors, not soldiers.
  • Bitcoin is what Monero really is.

Feel free to add anything if you'd like. It's just a reminder about what makes us antifragile.

I've been involved in crypto trading for about 10 years, and I'm looking for a genuine and valuable community (excluding Reddit) where I can discuss trading, crypto, and prices from both a technical and fundamental perspective.

I'm particularly interested in a space where not everyone insists on pricing everything in USD or BTC and where there's a strong interest in more trading pairs with XMR.

Privacy, self-custody, money -> Freedom.

How do I properly expose a BTCPay Monero node on Tor?

Is it sufficient to bind the hidden service to the container's IP and set the port to 18089, or are there additional considerations I need to be aware of?

I'm using 18089 restricted and public, can I use this data into my block explorer?

I wonder if is possible to use the same port on Tor Service AND localhost in order to connect a block-explorer into a monerod binary setup.

I get the node working and I know the basis at networking or docker compose, I just didn't found how to archive what I want and can't solve trying by myself.

Connection to 127.0.0.1:18089 is not possible and I suspect that's because I'm using the port on Tor Service.

What can I do?
