It better be with all that gold coming out of it

Damn, I’m being hung up on all the technicalities. “I think it’s more likely that, in my lifetime, I would randomly shit out a pure Royal Canadian Mint 1 kilo 99.99% gold bar in its entirety before the US Supreme Court would nationalize any company”

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 27 points 3 hours ago (4 children)

The answer: tech bros dictating that they need more “engagement” e.g. they need to collect more data so they can either sell said data or get acquired. I guarantee you very few mobile developers want to send you a notification of any sort, much less “why haven’t you used the app.”

Sorry, should have specified “a realistic way to legally…” I think I would shit out actual gold before the Supreme Court voted to nationalize anything, much less spacex

I wish we had a legal way to force musk out of spacex. I want spacex to succeed, I think it's in our nature as humans to want to explore beyond our own planet. I don't think it should be under private control of fascist billionaires with the interests of building feudalist space colonies

Oh yeah true, wouldn’t someone think of Janno Lieber? The head of the MTA that has a salary equaling the president of the United States?

Agreed, things like DLSS are the right kind of application of AI to games, same with frame generation. The wrong kind is trying to figure out how to replace developers, artists of every kind, actors, etc in the production process with AI. That being said though, companies like Nvidia absolutely can and will profit off making sure that a game cannot run well on anything but the latest hardware that they sell, so the whole “you need to buy our stuff to play games because it has the good ai and now all games require the good ai” is capitalist bullshit

Which one? The guy that didn’t pay his fare? Or the innocent bystander shot in the head? Or the other person grazed by a bullet? Or the other cop who also got shot by his fellow officer during the unprofessional spray of gunfire?

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 29 points 11 hours ago (3 children)

Yeah the title sucks. It should be “4 people wounded by police gunfire during confrontation with man armed with knife.” The guy with the knife didn’t injure anybody and the title doesn’t make that clear.

There’s literally a company shaving off the melting ice from icebergs to ship to Dubai so that the super wealthy can sip on it in their drinks, so yeah

I mean, they don't just retweet them, they twist the narrative, write legitimate looking articles on legitimate looking websites that people can quote, and subtly propose civil unrest, as that's their ultimate goal.
