Touhou 8: Imperishable Night.

I earned my first-ever 1CC there three days ago, on the Easy difficulty (ignoring the perennial "easy modo" memes within the games' fandom), and slowly but surely, I'm learning both the fundamentals and the strategies towards passing various stages and spellcard patterns; hopefully, with enough practice, patience, and a bit of foresight, I can move up and do another 1CC on Mormal (both Finales), either with the Border or Netherworld team.

As for everything else, I found myself enthralled with the lore, story, and the music in this game, as if it were timeless, in a way. I'd say I like Eirin's boss theme the most, befitting for someone who's lived through time and knows everything diligently.

A longtime Wonderswan enthusiast, unusually for his usual game-related video repretoire, gives his first impressions upon vivid/statis, a free VSRG-ARG-visual novel hybrid released by Hajimeli back in 2023 (on Steam) for PC platforms

Always proud to be here, since the momentous mod and API protest days at the orangered site, but we still have work to be done, including fostering discussion and quality fannish content beyond the bounds of the Western part of our globe.

Oh yeah, we are indeed in a sort of calm-before-a-storm moment regarding the Internet itself, as if the proverbial storm, as Emperor pointed out, is now big tech companies and their corporate cohorts, against a cache of genuine humanity at hand.

On first glance, I almost double-mistook her holding pose as something similar to that of Kai'Lea from Welcome to the New Age (the intro animatic, specifically)...

Makes some sense, since both have the innate nature of water, to say the least.

Characters: Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, Aya Shameimaru, Cirno

Here goes the second in my own (kinda) evolving series on depicting Touhou games as if they were album jackets in themselves, and for this, I chose the one with the most colors (not literally), and with the playables in some sort of a inverted photo-op booth shot.

Characters: Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, Aya Shameimaru, Cirno (with a tan)

Just had this one backlogged for a week now, but with some more tweaks and silhouette and text fix-ups, it's now as fully complete as the full, bright moon tonight.

Characters: Reimu Hakurei, Yukari Yakumo, Marisa Kirisame, Alice Margatroid (with Shanghai), Youmu Konpaku, Yuyuko Sagyouji, Sakuya Izayoi, Remilia Scarlet

Oh yeah, this was a worthy singin' bop from those fannish musicians, to say the least.

Still on Touhou 8 (Imperishable Night), and then, vivid/statis, of which its latest tournament quarterfinals tiebreaker just came out and I was far no less impressed with how I managed to almost teeter on gaining any Fails on the Middle Chart, just a few Goods, due to my laptop sometimes overloading on RAM while the application's running.

As for the former, I've been taking small steps on figuring out routes for Keine's second spell card attack on Normal Difficulty; on Easy, my new run-ender's on Reisen's second spell card attack, where shotgun bullets fade in and out whenever those blood red eyes periodically flash.

FYI, the originals are of "Gensokyo Millenium ~ History of the Moon" from Touhou 8 (Imperishable Night) and "Desire Drive" from Touhou 13 (Ten Desires), respectively.

She muses about human-made agri food often, doesn't she? Choices, choices, something that transcends even the simplest of boundaries...

For what it essentially entails, Analog Obsession's busterSE does quite a bangin' job at being a analog-style stereo compressor, with the ability to tilt whatever part of the frequency spectrum you wanna have spread out, in spite of its limitations on the surface. Kicks, snares, pads, even the entire mix, you name it.

Of second, yet equal, mention, is ChowDSP's Chow Tape Model. which I've found so far to be both versatile and not that CPU-hungry. not only at those tape-esque warm flavors, but also at aiding modern, multigenre music compositions. I use them both, or either one of them, depending on the situation, and both are forever free high-quality.

It's been months since this community's original home at kbin.social (RIP), and the summer-fall window's still hot up the rhythm gaming world, as a few days ago, Sunrise Showdown, vivid/statis' second official rhythm game tournament (though with teams instead of individuals, and in a Jet Lag-esque deckbuilding format), had just started a few days ago.

Still, it's a fan-run fediverse hub for all things about that one fun, quirky rhythm game-visual novel-puzzle hybrid with an aura of scifi and mystery at your fingertips, so if you're a fellow fan of rhythm games with extensive lore and stories, come join us for the wild ride (also looking for addt'l. mods and designers)!

Although not traditionally a DAW, OpenMPT's currently my main (especially when I use VSTs and soundfonts alongside pure samples for audio rendering duties. Caustic 3, though, that was my first proper DAW, and taught me some basic and advanced techniques in music production, in a fairly-accessible, yet deep-rooted audio-visual interface.

But then, there's so much someone could bear working overtime until they melt down like a receding iceberg under a tropical climate...

Former Palawan governor Joel Reyes, accused as the brains in the 2011 murder of broadcaster and environmentalist Gerry Ortega, surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday, according to the Presidential Task Force on Media Security.

The PTFoMS confirmed Reyes’ surrender to the NBI’s National Capital Region office on the night of Sept. 11.

Further details regarding the surrender have yet to be released by the NBI and the task force.

Ortega, a critic of Reyes, was shot and killed on Jan. 24, 2011, in a thrift shop in Puerto Princesa, Palawan after completing his radio program.

The journalist frequently criticized local politicians, including Reyes, whom he accused of corruption and allowing the exploitation of Palawan’s natural resources.

Reyes, who fled the country in 2012 alongside his brother, then-Coron mayor Mario, was apprehended in Thailand in 2015.

Obviously, mine's taking inspiration from classic Laserdance tunes (think 1987-1993), while still keeping everything else modern for everyone's ears. It's kind of belated, in a way.

Now that sort of piques my exploration juice, especially with roguelikes/roguelites that have extensive, deep-enough systems and lands to dive into, and the bit about resolving fights and incidents with practical real-life measures and techniques common to the usual adventurer, instead of the usual HP- and MP-decreasing system seen in most other games... alright, into my wishlist it goes.

Plays at the main menu screens of the aforementioned vertical bullet hell shmup game.

This original appears as one of two "boss" songs in Chapter 4; TW for intense, flashing visuals, all of which are done by AriaL.
