@pwnedcrypto @yogthos Same here. I started with the first version of Windows. It had bugs that were never fixed. Same problems version after version! I switched to a Macbook a year ago and will NEVER return to MS. I'm not an Apple's fan AT ALL, and I can't stomach IOS or the design of the Iphone, but the Macbook has been amazing. It works seamlessly with my NAS and everything else I can throw at it.

@cazabon @Heterokromia @yogthos So the HP inkjet was a huge disappointment to me. It no long works after 13mo. because it can't communicate with the mother ship. I will NEVER return to HP and it's overarching control of my equipment. I had followed all the rules, used their ink subscription, which was also a HUGE negative experience. Purchased a different brand that does NOT communicate with the manufacturer. I'm buying my ink supply as I need it. So much happier.
@QuentinCallaghan I'm not sure he led it. It's like a train. He opened the gate and people piled on board. He constructed the train but it's the passengers who created that wasteland.
I don't recall getting any stupid or controversial content from Mark. We need to face the fact that these open social media systems, designed for maximum profits, reflect OUR OWN society, and overall, it's pretty disappointing. We've learned that many in our society lack common decency and are easily manipulated and led by con artists and their conspiracies. That's why I bailed. It hit the limit of what I could tolerate.
I prefer a well moderated social media system that attracts more fact based information discussions. Why not? Private social media systems do not NEED to be a free for all. I really don't NEED to hear opinions from the kids who sat in the back of the class throwing spit balls at the teacher.
@Zerush @const_void As a Windows user from its first version, I was forever frustrated with an operating system that continually required baby sitting, maintenance and a 300 page manual, version after version, just to get some tasks done. Ditched it!
An OS, in my opinion, should operate independently and quietly in the background. You shouldn't know it's there as you focus on YOUR tasks. I now use a NAS for some tasks, a MacBook pro for others, and an android phone. I’m not an apple supporter at all, but find these are better solutions for me to focus on the tasks I want to accomplish without concerning myself with ANY OS. Call it a bad attitude but I no longer want to "work with" any OS for ANY task.
@Daryl76679 @sproid Any analog to digital conversion image or sound is basically fake, with every type of device.
@verzyanim @Greenpepper I found the tweet character limitation too constraining and only suitable for political sound bytes or the use of pre-defined labels. It's impossible to discuss complex issues with that limitation. Mastodon is far better.
@cazabon @Heterokromia @yogthos I got a Canon laser. Costs much more, weighs a ton, but it's really a fast printer with excellent print quality and NO requirement for it to check in to it's manufacturer for permission to print. I'm pretty much over inkjets, period.
It's the old saying, you get what you pay for. Only downside is that you need to wear a back brace to move it.
