Neat! I would love to find something similar but for more obscure games. Having Errant Signal dropping some great suggestions in their videos is great, but other than that I can't find any outlets covering these sort of games very frequently.

Well, shit. I thought you were gonna write a paragraph with an overview not these awesome and detailed instructions! This is great! Thanks kindly, saved for my next free time of server tweaking.

Can show us how you configured the internal part?

I saw people using signal for announcements only by restricting posting messages to group chat admins. Is that similar to what you're looking for?

You hinted at a possibly better version control system at the end there viz merge conflicts. Can you let us know which ones you think are better at this? The amount of time I waste on that at work is bonkers.

What are the alternatives you prefer?

Thanks for reinforcing that point. I've discussed with them and edited the post to reflect this.

That knife sits squarely within the budget that I have (around 80 euros), which is great.

I was aiming for something in the 60 to 100 euro range.

You're recommendation looks neat, it is around 90 euros at the website I linked.

Recommendation for a EDC (self.pocketknife)
submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) by john_lemmy to c/pocketknife@lemmy.world

My partner asked me for a recommendation for a EDC because I own and care for my kitchen knives. But I know nothing about pocket knives, so I'm hoping you all can recommend something lest they walk out with a 8 inch chef's knive peeking from their pocket.

I had a look here, but I just got lost in all those choices.

It doesn't need to be super durable as I should be able to sharpen it for them, but it should be easy to handle. The purported usage is self defense, but I think it will mostly be used to do chore related tasks.

Any solid choices there?

EDIT: after the replies pushing back on using this type of tool for self defense, I've had a talk with my partner and went through the arguments here. They didn't take much convincing that it was a bad idea. Thank you all for pointing it out!

How do you pay with monero in a private way? Do you have to know a guy and pay them in cash for the digital coins or what?

[–] john_lemmy 10 points 3 months ago

Yeah, just pull the plug. The amount of time we waste talking about this shit for these assholes to play another round of monopoly is unbelievable

It also clashes a bit with how I understand enjoying food. I get that you can maybe build up a tolerance to capsaicin that's different to a "sugar tolerance", but typically I don't go for the food with the most sweet flavor or the most smoky flavor just because I like those specific flavors. Why, following a similar logic there would be a smoked food challenge where people eat fucking charcoal, no?

Yeah, this bummed me out in the game, a bit. Not like I was not expecting it though.
