Firefox Desktop front-end engineer here.

This is a bug caused by a refactor / code cleanup. The bug that caused the regression is here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1849904

We've found the issue and spun up new Nightly builds which should be out ~~soon~~ now.

We got things showing up in the jump list last week programmatically. This week, we'll try modifying the frontend to have the option for using the new backend. And then maybe tests! Finally!
