What is the best matrix homeserver? (In terms of joining not self hosting) in c/matrix@lemmy.ml

There are only two that you can consider:

synapse: https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse
dendrite: https://github.com/matrix-org/dendrite

I would use synapse in your case, because dendrite is still in beta. There is also a c++ implementation construct and one in Rust Conduit but i dont know if they are good.

sentdex is a great start, his written tutorials for python will cover the basics and every step has a video.
