It was pretty fluid, easy to understand.

More interesting question - why is ice slippery?

Meme? That's literally just an ad. Am I missing something?

[–] ech@lemm.ee 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I mean...yeah, ok. I don't think a single incident from 2 decades ago is exactly a sign this is common, but it's precedent I suppose. Would narcan even help with something like that?

[–] ech@lemm.ee 18 points 5 days ago

How entirely unhelpful.

...Narcan?

*Actually decided to click through to the article for this one.

Since 2020, Griswold has made available at least $5 million in grant money for more physical security at election sites, which has allowed counties to take measures such as installing bulletproof glass or having Narcan on hand in case fentanyl is deployed as a chemical weapon.

I know fentanyl is the big scary drug of the decade but...is that something that happens? That sounds insane.

You're raging against a discussion on nomenclature and blaming anyone that responds to you for your off-topic crusade. Maybe take a moment think about that.

Nobody knows what's going in inside that melon except him, but it really does reek of the old mindset of colonials "discovering" lands where people had been living already for millennia, and assuming they're too dumb to be worth considering. Or even making a spectacle of them like they're some sort of animal.

Even if it's not intentionally malicious, that sort of disregard has some amount of bigotry attached.

Seriously. "Instinctual". There's a reason forks for children are super blunt - they do jab themselves in the face. Constantly.

It's interesting how little credit people give to the 5+ years we all take just to get the "basics". Walking, talking, eating, socializing, etc. It's all a matter of years of repetition/practice.

Wtf are you talking about? The user you're responding to is just clarifying the term "whale".

Rediscovered this vid digging around my old youtube playlists. I barely knew who Tom was back then, and with his recent announcement, I thought it was kind of neat to come back to. Hopefully others find it as funny/neat as I do!

I do this for a few things, movies in particular. For me most recently, I'm planning on watching Bo Burnham's Inside this weekend, for the first time since I watched it shortly post-release. I wasn't really intending to wait *checks watch* nearly 3 years on that one, but I definitely felt it needed some space before a rewatch.

Anyone else treat certain pieces of media similarly?

The instance I'm on just did the update and this comment highlighting is really throwing me off. It's super glaring and unpleasant imo and I'd really appreciate the ability to turn it off. I've looked around a bit but haven't found anything myself. Am I missing something?

Considering the latest rash of spam images plaguing the platform, I decided to figure out how to block embeds entirely since I never really liked them in the first place and am sharing what I got working since I figured it might be something others would like to enable themselves. (Fyi, this method requires uBlock Origin)

  • Open your uBlock settings and navigate to the 'My Filters' section
  • At the bottom of the document, add two breaks and then paste this:
lemm.ee##p > span
  • If your instance is different than lemm.ee, then replace that with the instance you use to have it work.

With that enabled, images and videos shouldn't load in comments anymore. I'm sure there's a better way to do this, so feel free to share if you know! This is just what I knew how to get work asap. Hope it helps some people!

*0.19 seems to have borked the method I previously posted, but I was able to find another string that works that seems to be more efficient anyhow. Hopefully this one works for a while! I'm going to leave the old strings at the bottom here just to cover all bases. To reiterate, these are the old strings that, afik, do NOT work anymore.

I drafted the heck out of it and I noticed today that I am 1-of "complete" with WOE, which is the first set I've done that with on Arena. While LCI looks to be good in it's own right, WOE just hit all the right notes and I miss it already, so cheers to an awesome draft format! It was great while it lasted.

No shade intended. I was just seeing some art from the new MtG Doctor Who cards and for whatever reason decided to look up what the Menoptra looked like originally and the disparity really cracked me up.
