That's part of the reason why platforms like Reddit took off: they're simple and easy to approach and people don't get overwhelmed at first sight
My take: The people who were in support of the protest were mostly the 3rd party client users and a lot of them left after the protest, leaving normal users, like myself, who are there for the content only, to vote for the sub to remain open in order to view the content again
AI art is terrible and destroys human creativity. OP worked hard to make the mascots himself and you think you can do something that's better with a bunch of words on a screen? Please do not
Revolt is fairly young in comparison to Matrix. A lot of features including E2EE will be implemented in the future. Also, Revolt actually does have bridges and an ecosystem of WIP third-party clients as well.
The backend is based on Rust, the current web frontend is based on preact. They are working on native Android and iOS apps, and a GTK based desktop client is being planned (but on hold currently). There is potential for an ecosystem of third-party apps due to the API being fully open
Revolt is not fedi. You can host your own server but you'll need a seperate build of their client to communicate to that server and seperate accounts
